Spinning killer punk 45s - Rave Records “life’s tough for the stupid”
Picked them up today and honestly didn’t know anything about the bands. Glad I took the one buck chance on this wax cuz these songs hold up solid. Can’t wait to dig into more of each band’s work.
These red and yellow twins include: More Fiends, Starvation Army, The Big Thing and Reverb Motherfuckers.
With a little bit of Google’s help I was able to track down a some history and more recent band/artist news
More Fiends
Here’s a must read recollection of the fall of the Berlin Wall by band member Elizabeth Fiend. She has a great blog with lots of killer pics, thoughts and stories.
Starvation Army
“It happened in ‘89 maybe it was ‘90. We were on are way back from a trip around the country sleeping on beer-stained couches. We were a completely self contained unit. Contained in an 8’ x 14’ rolling laundry basket we called a van.” ~ Tim Kelly, Bass
Read more stories from the band here You can also catch some of their tracks on iTunes
The Big Thing
Band member Greg Loop is now recording coolio kids songs and lovin him same brews http://beeractivist.com/2007/08/25/beer-drinking-kids-music-that-rocks/
Reverb Motherfuckers
“…sounds like a troop of retarded boy scouts doing duck calls through electrified vacuum cleaner hoses.” ~ Flesh and Bones
I was probably one friend that new this band away from becoming a fan back in the late 80’s early 90’s. Here’s a great bio on the band.
Tommy Guerrero riding old school with the rail guards. Had em on my decks until it wasn’t cool. Looking forward to getting some of his music on Vinyl (just ordered).
