![Listening to Le Corsaire on ABC with this morning with my girls. Their interest was peaked when they heard there were pirates were involved. The above picture is a page from the Stepanov choreographic notation of the Sergeyev Collection, which documents Marius Petipa’s original choreography for the scene Le jardin animé from Le Corsaire. Here’s another picture from the ballet “Bayadere” circa 1900. Pretty incredible.
