New Digs in Hartford - You know where the Gold Building is? Yea…it’s right across the street

We just locked down an office in Hartford, CT. Since all of our developers live in CT we devided to find a place in Hartford that they can all call home. We looked at a ton of locations and were pretty fired up when we came across 750 Main Street in Hartford. A little paint and some cool furniture should make this a fun place to make the magic happen.

Geezeo gets a little love from The Wall Street Journal

The Problem: Getting help with your finances without paying a financial planner.

The Fix: Consider recently launched Web sites such as Geezeo.com, Mint.com and Wesabe.com, which are making it easier to manage your money online. The services provide online tools that help users automatically keep track of their spending, set up budgets and goals, and swap tips with other users on how to save money.

The sites include many of the same features offered by popular software programs, such as Intuit Inc.’s Quicken and Microsoft Corp.’s Money — all free. The sites generally work by pulling data from your online bank and credit-card accounts and showing you through graphs and charts just where your money is going. Information is automatically updated so you can check your progress daily.

Though some consumers may have security concerns about sending their personal financial information to a Web site, users’ information is kept private, and the companies say their systems are just as safe as banking online. At Wesabe and Geezeo, users can share advice with other members, while Mint will recommend ways to save, such as a lower-rate credit card (the company collects a commission if a member accepts a product). ~ Jane Kim

Frog BzzGuide:

What’s the Bzz:
This site was frickin’ amazing! I have been trawling the web for months …maybe years to find something that could help me with budgeting, investing, goal-setting and all things financial. Eureka! I have found it!! You can add goals, financial institutions, investments, and more to this site so that you can interact with your finances. You can even network with like-minded (or otherwise minded)people online. I was so excited, I entered all my information right away and started to read some of the informational blogs posted.

BzzFacts: 1) They give you budgeting tools so that you understand where your money is going. 2) It is based on networking with others in the same boat, or better (or worse;)) so that you can discuss the challenges in your financial lives. 3) You can add all your own personal financial details in order to track what you are doing so that you will have accurate results. 4) You can include your own personal goals and track how and even when you will attain them. 5) you can join a group, read a blog or start your own! Truly amazing!!

Who to Tell: Anyone trying to get a hold on their finances (90% of the populace); anyone who is so busy they have a hard time tracking their finances; anyone who wants to learn about money & finance; anyone who is ready to plan for a costly venture/trip/etc. and anyone who likes to talk money (100% of the populace)
